NOTICE OF OVERNIGHT WORK – Starting June 17, 2019 - posted on June 13, 2019
Metro Vancouver is in the process of constructing the new sewer Douglas Road Sewer to accommodate area servicing needs and ensure continued protection of public health and the environment. In order to do this, this critical infrastructure must be completed in a timely manner.
Due to ground conditions along the next section of sewer tunnel construction, the tunnel boring machine (TBM) will be required to operate continuously in order to avoid getting stuck. As a result, construction may occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week as of Monday, June 17, 2019. Work on this section of the project is expected to be complete in less than three weeks. All work will comply with the City of Burnaby’s granted bylaw variance.
