Tap into water conservation across Metro VancouverTap into water conservation across Metro Vancouver

Metro Vancouver is gearing up to launch the third phase of its 2017 We Love Water Campaign.

The campaign, which last year focused mainly on tips to conserve water, will be expanded this year to include waterwise lawn care information, and information on the source, treatment and quality of our drinking water. The We Love Water website will also be updated to provide more information on where our drinking water comes from and integrate lawn watering and lawn maintenance information.

The third phase of the campaign, which will be launched in June, focuses on the broader drinking water conservation campaign and comes on the heels of the Waterwise Lawn Maintenance guide in late February, and the launch of the annual lawn watering regulations, which took effect on May 15. Included are refined creative and expanded media outreach including a robust presence on Global BC television with popular media meteorologists Kristi Gordon and Mark Madryga, sponsored weather updates on BC1 (Global's 24hr news channel) and on-air weather forecasts on CKNW, CFOX, ROCK 101, and AM730, digital media, using weather-triggered scheduling, and social media via imagery and video, including a promotional initiative called We Love Water Wednesdays.

Lawn watering regulations have been the cornerstone of Metro Vancouver's water conservation messaging for the past 20 years. The Metro Vancouver Board has established a target for reduction in peak day per capita water use of one per cent per year, compared with 2010 levels. Since 2010, peak day per capita water use has declined by an average of about three per cent per year. As population rises, continued per capita rate declines can defer the need to expand drinking water supply and infrastructure.

Metro Vancouver also engages residents by providing public access to information on water supply systems, watershed tours and hosting the Water Wagon at events throughout the region.

http://www.gazon.co.ua/metroupdate/PublishingImages/water.jpg2017-05-25T07:00:00ZGP0|#3b8f3b80-a7ab-4371-9209-a63c0676026a;L0|#03b8f3b80-a7ab-4371-9209-a63c0676026a|Issue 32;GTSet|#d14ffe11-45dc-48fb-8684-ff109cf15a74

Metro Vancouver is gearing up to launch the third phase of its 2017 We Love Water Campaign.
