Through intermittent rain showers, almost 350 volunteers planted native trees, shrubs and groundcover and removed 1,071 kilos of invasive plants like holly and ivy at Metro Vancouver’s inaugural EcoBlitz. The simultaneous EcoBlitz work parties were held on October 25 in Crippen Regional Park on Bowen Island,Boundary Bay in Delta, Iona Beach in Richmond, Pacific Spirit beside the University of BC, Campbell Valley in Langley,Burnaby Lake, Tynehead in Surrey, Minnekhada in Coquitlam, Aldergrove, and Kanaka Creek in Maple Ridge.
